Pogacar is an underdog for both yellow and polka dot jerseys

The last decisive stage is the only time trial of the 107th Tour de France, to be raced individually from Lure to La Planche des belles filles on a 36.2km course. It’s fairly flat until the first time check at km 14.5 and the second time check at Plancher-les-Mines, 5.9km before the top of the hill, will enable determining the King of the Mountains. In the polka dot jersey now, Richard Carapaz will be able to take it easy on the flatter section – although he’ll have to be careful of the time cut – before giving it all up the hill while runner up Tadej Pogacar will have to give it all all the way as he might have a chance to win the Tour de France overall, albeit a small chance. With a 57’’ lead, Primoz Roglic looks all set for his first Tour de France victory one year after he claimed La Vuelta while Miguel Angel Lopez will defend his place on the podium against Richie Porte. The Colombian and the Australian are 1’39’’ apart.
