Isaac del Toro (UAE Emirates XRG) set the pace for Tadej Pogačar on the final climb to Les Angles and retained the lead in the young rider classification.
“It was super important to be up there with Tadej (Pogacar). I’m so happy to see him with the Yellow Jersey. We achieved our goal, and now I’m going on the podium with him. It’s something I never thought about before in my life.”
The white jersey could be an achievable goal for the Mexican rider, who is making his Tour de France debut:
“It could be, but as I said, I’m here to enjoy every moment, and I think you can see that every day. I just want to be as happy as I can.”
