“I’m very satisfied, especially with my feelings on the bike. Obviously, the result is good for me because I arrived with the best. I lost a few seconds to Pogacar and Roglic in the time bonuses but today I felt much better. I managed to enjoy my riding more and this gives me confidence for the second half of the race, when the Alps will arrive and there’ll be more fatigue in the legs. I wouldn’t say that my position on GC is perfect because I’m 21’’ down on Roglic who is a better time triallist than me and we’ll have a time trial on the second last day. I need to gain time on him to win the race. But I’m serene because I feel good. At this point of the race, the most important is the motivation and I recover well from my efforts. I want to win the race but I have to keep my feet on the ground and take into account that I’m racing against the best in he world.”
