“When it hurts during a team time trial and we feel that we’re going fast, it’s a great feeling. It’s wonderful that we’ve won the first two stages. Many dreams are coming true to me these days. I’m taking part on my first Tour de France, starting from Belgium. We’ve got the Maillot Jaune, and actually all the jerseys except for the polka dot. No one expected us to actually be up there today. We wanted to do our best in order to gain some time on the GC for Steven Kruijswijk, or at least not losing it… Yet we got the victory. So far, I’ve been feeling good but I weight 78kg so I won’t be able to retain the white jersey in the mountains. I’m in good shape but I don’t know a stage win will be within reach. Firstly, I want to enjoy this beautiful moment with the team. I hope the dream just doesn’t end too soon.”
