This Tour’s most demanding series of ascents provide the perfect stage for bold climbers. There are more than 5,000 metres of vertical gain on the menu across the slopes of the Soulor, the Tourmalet (from its Luz-Saint-Sauveur side), the Hourquette d’Ancizan and, at the very last, the Portet, the highest summit of this edition at 2,215 metres. With the finish in Paris just three days away, the race’s “queen stage” should trigger spectacular, high-stakes attacks.
