"Nothing will stop me as long as I’m here. It was another brilliant day at the front. I was hoping we could put up a bit more of a fight, but that’s just how it goes with sprinters’ teams. They're doing their part... And it’s my job to give it a go. I gave it my all again today. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough, but I hope it’ll pay off one day.
My legs still feel good. At worst, if I pay the price for it later, I’ll have discovered a new limit of what my body can do.
It’s a pleasure to do this in France, on these typical roads. There were lots of people out, a bit of rain, some lovely weather, beautiful roads with freshly resurfaced tarmac wherever we went… It’s a pleasure.”
