“We were planning our tactics for today’s finale already yesterday, at dinner. Me and ‘Skjelly’ (Mattias Skjelmose), the GC guys, were looking over and realizing it was going to be a hard, stressful finale. All the team committed to the plan and it didn’t pay off, yet we put out a very good team effort. Mads [Pedersen] needs for the finale to be demanding in order to try and win the sprint. We can all be proud of what we did today. The fact I had to make an effort doesn’t change anything, as the rest of GC guys had to do so too. A different Tour starts tomorrow, and we are ready for it.”
