"Today’s was a very warm and long stage. It was key to keep ourselves hydrated and cool. We used some ice to cool our body down, and we were also being given reminders about when to drink all day long over the team radio. To be honest, I sometimes take the earpiece off when the race is calm – but I keep it most of the time. As for the racing, it was not a hard day nor an easy one. We knew there were some places where there might be crosswinds and we were careful at those. It is good I have a team full of big guys, because they are very good at guiding and protecting me through this kind of stages. In the end, I was able to save some legs for the mountain stages."
