“I spent a lot of energy today. It could maybe have been much better in the grupetto. But I needed to stay with the other guys for the green jersey. I’ll try to recover from this hard stage. I had definitely no chance to win today. I knew the last climb was hard and it was sure that Julian [Alaphilippe] would attack. It was a perfect climb for him, like the other day when he won [stage 3]. He had a big opportunity to go for the yellow jersey again and he did it. Congrats to him.”
