Bastille Day in Picardy: a perfect combination for Démare

After Chartres, here’s Amiens: the Tour de France goes from one cathedral to another. It’s Bastille Day and the race goes to the Picardy close to the home of former French champion Arnaud Démare who is yet to win a stage this year. Pressure is high on his shoulder but his motivation for racing at home is also enormous. The wind could be an important factor from Dreux to Amiens but the sprinters wouldn’t let one last opportunity go before they tackle the cobblestones and the Alps. Dylan Groenewegen, Peter Sagan and Fernando Gaviria who have already won bunch sprints on this Tour are hungry for more.
