Stage city for the 1st time

Chef-lieu de canton of Ardèche (07)

8 600 inhabitants (Teillois)

Unprecedented stage finish on the Tour de France, Le Teil is a neighbour of Montélimar that is established on the opposite side of the Rhone, but also of Aubenas that saw Mark Cavendish win in 2009 and Johan De Roo in 1966. More recently, the Ardèche town made a name for itself in the cycling world by hosting the women’s Tour de l’Ardèche, but also stage 3 of the 2014 Critérium du Dauphiné where Nikias Arndt conquered his first major success. Since then, the German rider has claimed stage victories at the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España.
