The final stage in the Alps is also the one that reaches the highest altitude and packs in the most elevation gain, thanks largely to the linking of the Col du Pré and Montée de Bisanne, which amount to 25 kilometres of climbing within the stage’s final 50 kilometres at an average gradient of around 8%. The descent leading into the final climb is technical and offers the potential for bold tactical moves before the finish at the Les Saisies ski station, located four kilometres beyond the last summit.
