“It was a really tough day, a fast one, and I’m happy that it’s over. You need to think quick and today we managed things well. It was all good, we had everything more or less under control. We knew it was gonna be a tough day for us anyway. But in the end, it played much better than I expected.
It was even better for us to have Tom [Pidcock] in the front because other teams had to chase. We could sit on the wheels a bit in the last 30 kilometres.
Markstein is a nice place and I’m really looking forward riding it again tomorrow and to enjoy the crowd.”
