"What was I doing today when Jumbo-Visma launched their attack? I was riding my bike and fighting for positions in the bunch. [laughs] We could expect something like that. Wout van Aert was clearly the strongest today, he smashed everyone. He is a deserving winner. It was not a stressful day, it was a little better than Denmark. It got faster at the end and Van Aert was on fire. Coming into the climb it got a bit hectic. We knew that, if there was one team that could pull off something like this, it was Jumbo-Visma – they have done it before, and they are super strong. And indeed they were the strongest today. I was coming from behind as Van Aert was taking off. When I saw he had dropped Jonas Vingegaard as well, I stopped being worried because I realized that, if anything, we would chase back together. Tomorrow will be a more difficult stage. I look forward to a big day, with no difficulties nor crashes for us. We will all have great fun – especially the guys watching from the couch!"
