“The Mont Ventoux is a mythical climb, even more at the Tour de France. I was looking again and again at the images of Richard Virenque in 2002 when I was a kid, so it was magic to be at the front in this particular stage, but Wout van Aert was stronger than me. We’ve fought as a team. I attacked early on purpose. I think that’s what we had to do. We can be content with our team work.”
