The 2021 Tour de France’s passage across the Morvan massif saw Matej Mohorič triumph in Le Creusot and left a lasting impression. The breakaway riders tackled the formidable Signal d’Uchon and engaged in a fierce battle, during which Mathieu van der Poel defended his Yellow Jersey against Wout van Aert. Le Creusot was also the site of a decisive victory for Luis Ocaña during the 1973 Critérium du Dauphiné, just weeks before his overall victory in the Tour.
