"The goal was to make it into the break in order to bag as many points as possible in the intermediate sprint, yet there was a super tough fight for the break and I didn’t manage to make it. Luckily we had Quinn Simmons up the road, and he had a good shot at winning the stage. The stage was crazier than I expected - it felt like a Classic. The fight for the green jersey adds some pressure, because you can’t take an easy day and have to stay focused and in contention in every stage. It’s completely different, and I like it. The mountains tomorrow don’t scare me. I just have to ride my own tempo, and luckily I will have teammates to support me. I’m 100% sure I will make it to the finish line inside the time cut."
