Jonathan Milan: "This really is a fantastic victory"

"I’m really happy, I’m without words I have to say. I didn’t survive alone, I survived with the help of my teammates and I have to appreciate this. Without them, I would still be on one of the climbs, I wouldn’t be here!

They help me every single day and today was a really tough stage. We controlled from the beginning, of course with the help of other teams. Then my teammates helped me when I was dropped and they put a good pace on the second climb. It was also a difficult finale because of the weather.

They helped me, they supported me, and this really is a fantastic victory. I really have to thank them from the bottom of my heart.

I didn’t know there was a crash, I hope no-one is in a bad situation. My teammates had put me in the best position. I was really focused, looking forward.

We still some hard days with lots of climbing ahead of us. But we’ve had a lot of fun and I’m really happy with how it’s going. We will keep fighting as we did everyday for the intermediate sprints and for the last stage. There’s a bit more of gap now in the points standings. I’m a bit more relaxed. I will keep fighting and trying to achieve as many points as I can."
