"I surprised myself today. I have to thank the team. We worked til midnight to get the best position on the bike. It was one of my best days on the bike. I was able to push myself beyond my limits today and I’m proud of what I did. I saved some energy for really force myself toward the end. I need to keep something in the tank. When I said yesterday I would lose the jersey, it was not a lie."
