Pyrenees National Park

Cauterets, the stage's town of arrival is located in the Pyrenees National Park, which stretches the length of the border with Spain, spanning six valleys. This is where Atlantic and Mediterranean climatic influences converge, and the area boasts a diverse range of natural, cultural and landscape features. It is home to more than 4,000 animal species and has some of the most original flora in Europe, including asters and the Pyrenean lily. Since 1987, the Park has been working on a project to reintroduce the Iberian ibex on the French side of the Pyrenees.
