Jérôme Cousin: "I got chills...”

"This morning I was really committed to be in the thick of things today because the stage began next to my club, the U.S. Pontchâteau in front of my family and my region. Part of the instructions from my team this morning was to have one of us in the break and I managed to drag myself up there. During the first part of the stage, there were a lot of people and it was amazing – many of them were screaming my name and I had chills. Of course, when we engage in this kind of escape on a stage like that, one that is designed for the sprinters, we know that it will most likely not last. The statistics in these cases are not encouraging. But every time we take the start of a race, there are 200 runners, and one who will win!”
