“To be honest, I got tangled up in the mess before the final climb so I was just trying to move up to help Cadel. I saw him up there on the front and I thought, ‘Oh man, I should be up there doing that for him.’ But I was sitting a bit too far back.
“Being in a prize jersey at the Tour is pretty cool. I’m definitely enjoying it.
“It felt cool to be riding around in a jersey it was a fun experience. Hagen gave me a little scare towards the end when he jumped away but I’m glad to be back in the white jersey tomorrow.”
