“After yesterday I felt good but for this sprint I was a bit tired. Maybe after the win I didn’t rest as much as the other sprinters did but it’s okay I have some points for the green jersey and we will see what happens tomorrow. I’m not sure what to expect though. I need to examine the parcours and afterwards I’ll know more but I’ve been told the arrival [in Boulogne-sur-Mer, for stage three] is good for me.
“In the last few kilometers it was very difficult and dangerous and so I said that I wouldn’t sprint against Cavendish, Goss or Greipel.
“I hope to keep on to the green jersey. I’ll try. I’m very lucky that I got to wear it for a day but now I’ve earned the lead. I want to hold on to it.
“It’s very important to do the intermediate sprint. I did that today as well as yesterday but it’s too hard. I needed to do it because the other sprinters were there and that’s why I tried.”
