RadioShack-Nissan takes control

Already winner of the final team standings in 2010, during the last appearance of Lance Armstrong who found a way to bid farewell to the Tour de France from the podium in Paris, RadioShack-Nissan has taken another victory today: they are the best team in stage eight. They had four riders in the group of the yellow jersey that raced together to the finish and the efforts of Tony Gallopin (3rd), Haimar Zubeldia (9th), Fränk Schleck (10th) and Chris Horner (11th) is what earned them this reward.

RadioShack-Nissan will become the second team in 2012 to wear the yellow 'dossards' (race numbers) and, if they continue as they have in stage eight, then yellow helmets await. Finally, after over a week of racing a team other than Sky has led the general rankings. And Cancellara's boys are now 2'51" ahead of Wiggins' crew... and well clear of the third best team Liquigas-Cannondale which is more than 10 minutes behind.
