Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) retained the green jersey after Stage 16, and is now focused on winning the 17th stage.
“It was nice to open up the legs for tomorrow's stage. We had a good two-hour ride this morning, and I went [at a decent pace] on the climb, but then it was cruise control until the finish line, nothing too deep.”
“Tomorrow is one of the days we marked out before we came to the Tour. We will race to win the stage tomorrow. We have to do a master plan with the DS. They were super focused on this stage with Juan Ayuso and 'Skelly' [Mattias Skjelmose], but we will know tonight after dinner.”
