2016: McLay plays with the big boys

The history of the Fortuneo-Vital Concept team is in its infancy compared to the leading teams that occupy the event's roll of honour. However, it is a spectacular accomplishment for its pioneers, who worked for a long time at establishing a team with a strong Brittany identity, which eventually made it to the 2014 Tour de France bearing the name Bretagne-Séché Environnement. Its riders have mainly won recognition through their involvement in breakaways, but last year also started to get a glimpse of the success that would see them step up a rung on the ladder in the Tour de France hierarchy. However, it was not a rider from Brittany but from Britain who aimed for the top, as Dan McLay managed to grab 3rd place on the stage finishing in Montauban.
