2011: Sky's emergence in Lisieux

For its second Tour de France the team at the time named Sky Pro Cycling still had much to prove. The objective for the British was clear as they set their sights on the Tour de France roll of honour, but seemed rather cocky in light of the results they achieved in 2010. It was perhaps Edvald Boasson Hagen who managed to reverse the trend by offering his team a first victory in this land of miracles, at the foot of the Lisieux Basilica. The young Norwegian had missed the boat the day before, having attacked slightly too early with Cap Fréhel in his sights. However, his timing was perfect on this finish in Normandy where he obtained his first triumph on the Tour de France. Ten days later, he succeeded again in a completely different scenario on the descent near Pinerolo in Italy. The Sky rocket had taken off, soaring onwards to the success that everyone has since seen it achieve!
