Port d'Envalira, high and historical

It's only the eighth time for the Tour de France to crest the Port d'Envalira, the highest road in the Pyrenees, 2408m above sea level. The border between Andorra and France has remained famous in the history of the race for Jacques Anquetil's failure in 1964 but the Frenchman made it across as he took a lot of risks in the downhill, helped by his team-mate Louis Rostollan. The last passage of the Tour at Port d'Envalira was in 2009. Sandy Casar was first at the top.
