“It's a nice feeling. It's a good day for our team, except for Sam Bennett who crashed. I hope he'll be able to start tomorrow. Realistically, I never thought our breakaway could go to the end but we try to animate the stages and it was an opportunity for me to get the polka dot jersey. It was very hard to stay away for the second KOM price. It's better to start on a high than a low but I don't think I'll keep the jersey, or maybe for another day or two. I'm not a pure climber.”
