Questioned by letour.fr, IAM Cycling directeur sportif Eddy Seigneur said: “This is the first stage in the Alps so it's an important one. Every team knows it well because we've already done it at the Dauphiné. We also know the key is the downhill of col d'Allos. It's a very dangerous one. This is the first part of four days of fighting in the Alps. In the third week, the organisms are tired and the places between tenth and fifteenth overall are widely open. Our goal is to get Mathias Frank in the top ten. He has recovered well from his problems at the beginning of the Tour. He enters the Alps in a great shape. We're also pleased with Jarlinson Pantano's performances. He made the best of stages 14 and 16 and moved up on GC (16th) but we're not surprised. We know his potential.”
