Questioned by letour.com, first timer Damien Gaudin (AG2R-La Mondiale) who won the prologue of Paris-Nice in 2013 in Houilles commented: “A strong rouleur will win. I like this time trial. It's a great way for me to start and discover the Tour de France. I'll have to enjoy. Only two or three curves require using the brakes. Every other section, it's flat out. Watts will be needed! The race will be won over 50km/h. It'll be my first time in front of so many people. This is the Tour. I was told what it was like but now, here I am. I'll have some goose bumps. It might make me ride faster.”
