"School Solidarity - a bike for every child" operation

The French Ministry of National Education and Youth, the French Ministry of Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the Tour de France are teaming up with Ma Petite Planète to roll out an operation to promote cycling proficiency in schools.
From Monday, 12 to Friday, 30 June, the participating classes will have the opportunity to organise their own cycling events based on the guidelines of the "School Solidarity — A Bike for Every Child" programme, which supports the "Savoir Rouler à Vélo" cycling proficiency scheme and helps children to develop the skills they need to cycle independently by the time they start secondary school.
The goal of the second edition is to get 100,000 students involved. The Tour de France will give €1 to charity for each child who completes the training. This year, the €100,000 will go to Secours populaire français, Qhubeka and the Fondation ANAÏS.

"SAVOIR ROULER À VÉLO", A FUN PROGRAMME BACKED BY THE GOVERNMENT
Created in 2019 by the ministries in charge of National Education and Sport, the "Savoir Rouler à Vélo" programme is a learning scheme for children aged 6 to 11. The "School Solidarity — A Bike for Every Child" project, which was moved into the spotlight in June, a month before the Tour de France, in 2022, helps students to acquire the skills they need to be able to ride a bicycle independently and safely by the time they get to secondary school.
This year, to make the challenge even more fun and educational, the government has called upon the expertise of Ma Petite Planète Scolaire. In the same vein as the charity's classic challenge, with the support of their teachers, students spend three weeks learning, raising awareness and acting together to speed up the change towards more responsible practices.

THE TOUR DE FRANCE CHAMPIONS EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE GOALS
Through its "Riding into the Future" programme, the Tour de France wants to encourage children to take up cycling from an early age. The target of the second edition is to involve 100,000 students, amounting to 3,400 classes, in a nod to the approximately 3,400 kilometres covered by the Tour de France. The programme has a strong solidarity component. For every student who completes a "Savoir Rouler à Vélo" training activity, the Tour de France will donate €1 to Secours populaire français, Qhubeka and the Fondation ANAÏS, for a total of €100,000. This donation will help train children in cycling and provide bicycles to those not fortunate enough to have one.

MA PETITE PLANÈTE BRINGS ECOLOGICAL EXPERTISE AND A COMMUNITY OF ACTION
The MPP challenge was launched in 2020 to raise awareness and prod as many people as possible into taking action in their day-to-day lives through dozens of challenges for the protection of the planet. Since its launch, the charity has reached over 240,000 users, 400 businesses and local authorities and 6,600 classes from nursery to secondary school. More than 3.26 million ecological challenges have been completed in France and abroad.   By joining forces with the government and the Tour de France for the "School Solidarity — A Bike for Every Child" operation, Ma Petite Planète aspires to get young people on the move and accelerate the changes towards more responsible practices that respect the limits of our planet.
