“I already experienced the podium ceremony of the Tour but it was a dream to make it in Denmark. The goal was clear but in the breakaway there were also two B&B Hotels riders who had the same goal. It’s been a hot battle to drop them but it worked out. It’s a really big day for me and I expect to have another incredible day tomorrow with the polka dot jersey. The atmosphere is crazy on the road sides because cycling is an important part of our culture here.”
