“I hope that the legs of Franco Pellizotti are not always as good as what we’ve seen in the last few days because he’s always so fast. If he keeps going like this, it’s going to be too hard for me to keep the polka-dot jersey. There were some climbing points on offer but we were also considering the stage win. That was the bigger goal today. But with Nicki Sorensen there, it was just not possible. He came up alone to the break and if a guy can do that on his own, then he’s a very good rider!
“I’m not frustrated. I’m actually riding better than ever so I only hope that my legs are always like this. I’ve been working a lot and I don’t know how long I’ll be able to keep going like this.”
