PAU

Tadej Pogačar established himself as the master of stages that started in Pau, initially with his first stage win in Laruns in 2020, then in 2021 with a victory in Luz-Ardiden that confirmed his unchallenged domination of that year’s race. However, when the Tour returned to Laruns in 2023, it was Jai Hindley who made his mark by winning the stage and taking the Yellow Jersey, while the Slovenian champion suffered his first setback in his duel with Jonas Vingegaard.
