"It was a tough day, very tense. When Cannondale accelerated, I did not think they would succeed to keep this pace for so long. But in the end, we did a very good sprint here and I'm really satisfied. Sylvain Chavanel has helped me in the end, and I finished fourth. I'm in a good position with the white jersey, of course, but now he will have to continue to defend it. I know that from tomorrow we go into a different phase, and I do not know how I’ll be on the climbs. There are many contenders for the white jersey, including some very good climbers – guys who are much better than me. I speak of course of [Nairo] Quintana, [Tejay] van Garderen or [Thibaut] Pinot, for example. I tried my luck in a few stages when I felt good in the mountains, like at Tirreno-Adriatico and more recently at the Dauphiné, but they are totally different races of the Tour. It is therefore difficult to learn how it could be here...”
