Stage 11Eymet / Pau

Start 13h05 (Local time)
  • Christian Prudhomme's comment

The Tour gets closer to its Pyrenean base but mountain specialists will still be preserving their energy. Going through the areas of Les Landes and Gers, the command of the pack will probably be left to the teams of sprinters. The escapees having made the effort to take off will, why not, have the opportunity to make a prayer at the Notre-Dame-des-Cyclistes Chapel, situated in Labastide-d'Armagnac.

Roumagne is the village of Pierrick Fedrigo, who celebrated his jubilee in October, putting an end to 17 years of a professional career punctuated by eleven Tours de France, four stage victories and a French champion title.

Château de Frémauret
This 12th-century building belonged to a branch of the powerful Ricard de Montplaisir family. In the 13th century, the castle housed Maltese knights who resisted the Albigenses. The present castle still includes a fortified part of the 12th century, machicolations and a round tower of the 14th century. The drawbridge was replaced in the 16th century by a portion of a wall connecting the donjon to the part rebuilt in the Renaissance period. In the 19th century, an extension was built between the noble house and the mill, of which only a few vestiges remain today. The castle of Frémauret is today a beautiful and imposing residence with a garden designed under the Consulate. A private property, it cannot be visited, but hosts events like Medieval Itinerances in the Dropt Valley.
