Rest day 2Gap

Tourist attractions

Gap

At the bottom of the mountains, this city is for the Tour de France travelers a perfect doorway to the Alps. Men attempting long breakaways have often triumphed, like Jean-François Bernard clinching his first stage victory in 1986 or Pierrick Fédrigo twenty years later. On the last two visits, the finishes in Gap crowned a World Champion in 2011, Norway's Thor Hushovd, and two years later a future rainbow jersey wearer, Portuguese Rui Costa.
