Visitors often pass through Drôme. In 2011, the Tour will stop there providing an opportunity to remember that the department is already familiar with stage races. In particular, the Tour de France experienced a decisive day there on the Montélimar road at the end of the 2006 edition (with the victory of Jens Voigt and the Yellow Jersey for Oscar Pereiro), and stopped in Bourg-lès-Valence and Bourg-de-Péage last summer. Moreover, in 2010, Drôme hosted two other stage races organised by A.S.O.: the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Tour de l’Avenir.
