"The first goal was to secure the polka-dot jersey and I managed to do it in the stage. The gap never went up too much and we knew that Cote de Peille and Col d'Eze are ideal for attacks and that's what happened again when Contador went. A stage win would have been icing on the cake but Contador was too strong. It was a good day, a great show, which proved that short stages could be exciting. I spend a pleasant day on the bike."

    History repeated itself on Sunday for Team Sky's Sergio Henao and Alberto Contador, who battled it out in a nail-biting final stage of Paris-Nice before the Spaniard was forced to concede defeat for two seconds.
