© P.PerreveFifth overall, green jersey winner and a surprise stage winner on Promenade des Anglais, Sylvain Chavanel (OPQ) can be satisfied with his Paris-Nice. Now the Frenchman sets his sights on the classics.
How did the time trial go?
I finished well, I improved my time last year. I'm on time. I think I finished three or four seconds behind the 4th place, it was a very close call. It was a matter of details.
What is you summary of this Paris-Nice?
It was a good Paris-Nice. I usually do well on this race. It's the first big event for most teams. I fared well in most stages which helped me win this green jersey. A first goal is achieved.
The green jersey was important?
It's important when you have it on your back, you want to retain you award. But the most important thing was the way I managed to win yesterday.
You're a sprinter now?
It's OK with small groups but it was more a surprise than anything else.
Your next goals?
I hope to improve my condition and feature well on my next objectives, the big upcoming classics.
