Alberto Contador - You had to test yourself

interview06.07.2014Stage 2- York / Sheffield

Alberto Contador attacked sharply in the finale before Vincenzo Nibali's victorious move and he said he felt in good shape in this satrting Tour de France.

“Today was a stage in which you needed to be careful, to control your rivals and also test yourself a little bit. I'm well. I'm glad. I feel in shape and I think I will progress as days go by. Today the most important thing was to stay in a good position. There were thousands of people, it's great but it's also dangerous when you go downhill at 90 kph or across villages with stray dogs. I'm glad I didn't crash because I was not so lucky in recent years.”
