After finishing the second stage in third place, the Polish champion will swap his national coloured jersey for a white one as leader of the youth classification at in his first Tour de France. There was a suggestion that he might be able to post a good GC result himself but that's not something he's thinking about.

“There are plenty of stages that suit us yet to come. We have the team time trial in a few days and we are the world champions in that so, for sure, we will be trying hard but I'm not looking at the chances I have of perhaps taking a yellow jersey. I just came here to learn and to help. How I finish the Tour de France on GC... I don't mind actually about that because I have different goals here and that's important.”
