Nice is waiting...

When the riders of the Tour will surface to take the start of the first stage, Nice also enters the race. On the Promenade des Anglais, there is a dedicated entertainment village allowing visitors to plunge into the world of the Tour.

Meet at 11.45!
Even on a clear day, it is rare to have a view on Corsica from the Promenade des Anglais. Yet this is what will happen tomorrow, as a giant screen was set up for live stages of the Tour de France, starting with the race Porto-Vecchio and Bastia on Saturday. To inaugurate the ‘Fête du Tour' village in Nice, Jean-Marie Leblanc will be an ambassador of the Tour, and he will be accompanied by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of the city, and Eric Ciotti, MP and President of the CG of the Alpes-Maritimes. Beyond the images of the race, the Tour village has 6,000m2 of exhibition space, occupied by 47 exhibitors offering different types of wares. (There will also be cycling trials demonstrations and Solex Tour de France, space initiation BMX contest on spinning bike simulators, funny bikes, etc.)
When Nice sees yellow
During the Fête du Tour, Nice will be dressed up to pay tribute to the greatest race in the world: the tram is clad in yellow, there will be a yellow jersey giant guarding the entrance to the town hall, yellow flags will line the streets. Furthermore, there is a landmark exhibition of the caravan of the Tour de France, on loan from the National Sports Museum (opening in 2014)in the parking lot of the Allianz Riviera stadium.
