Grand Start: Corse

Sites of the Grand Start

Logistics are the most daunting challenge posed by the Grand Start on Corsica. The key innovation is that both the press centre and the organisation's headquarters will be set up on one of Corsica Ferries' ships. The Mega Smeralda will first make port in Porto-Vecchio and then sail around the island to keep up with the riders.

The Countdown

The start of the opening stage in the port of Porto-Vecchio will of course be "zero hour" for the peloton. However, the previous week will set the scene for a wide variety of rituals which will help both riders and fans soak up the atmosphere of the 100th Tour: inauguration of the press centre, meeting of the caravanners, public team presentation, etc.
