Trentin: the premier Italian stage winner in the 100th Tour

A group of 14 came to the finish of the 14th stage after being on the attack for 150km; the escape would last the distance on the road to Lyon and the winner would come from a selection that worked very hard to gain time on the peloton in the opening two hours.
