There are many good reasons to be interested in women's cycling.

The existence of the Women's Flèche Wallonne is one of them. More than fifteen years after its creation, the race has become a prestigious major event on the cycling calendar, like its male counterpart. The title up for grabs at the summit of the unconquerable Mur de Huy, is one which enhances and stands out on a list of wins. Of course it is the weight of history, the intensity of the confrontations and the difficulty of the challenge which shape the reputation of a race. In this precise case, La Flèche has completely become one of the Classics, in the truest sense of the word.   The absolute champions have dominated the race, beginning with Marianne Vos, the queen of the pack, who has won in Huy five times.   A leader on the roads, the Dutch rider also is actively involved in her sport. Thanks to her support, in a few months, the sister race of La Flèche Wallone will be created.  Indeed Vos and her whole pack of rivals will meet up for La Course by Le Tour de France held on the fringe of the final stage of the Tour, on the Champs-Elysées, on 27th July.
