  • Phil Bauhaus comes of age

    Germany's Phil Bauhaus sprinted to victory at the end of stage 5 in the 69th Critérium du Dauphiné in Mâcon like his compatriot John Degenkolb six years ago in the city of French poet and politician Alphonse de Lamartine at the same age of 22. He outclassed four French sprinters and firstly points competition leader Arnaud Démare while Alexander Kristoff only finished sixth. Thomas De Gendt retained the yellow-blue jersey ahead of the conclusive three Alpine stages.
