Saint-Alban-Leysse is a small village situated in the Chambéry agglomeration. Its advantageous position on the shoulder of the Nivolet (of which it occupies the whole southern flank), makes it a very charming, pleasant place to live. The commune was created when the Saint-Alban and Leysse villages were unified in 1946. A large part of the territory is covered by forests and cultivated land as well as the vines of the Monterminod AOC. In the plain, there is a thriving industrial and commercial zone. Two large companies, Camiva and Schneider have set up here. Enriched by its cultural and sporting associations, Saint-Alban-Leysse is currently developing a major sports and leisure plain and is committed to ensuring a good balance between the built and natural environment. This is the first time that the municipality (whose cycling club is organising the Boucles du Nivolet – a cycling tour in the heart of the Bauges Mountain - at the end of June) is to host a stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné.

Morzine

3,000 inhabitants (Morzinois)

This unspoilt Savoyard village, set in an exceptional natural environment half-way between Lake Léman and Mont-Blanc, has lost none of its authentic charm and wooden chalets, some of which have local slate roofs. Steeped in tradition as it may be, Morzine is also a tourist destination offering a broad range of attractions. Lying in the heart of the Portes du soleil domaine with its 650 km of slopes, this is an ideal place to enjoy winter sports and family ski-ing. In the summer, the mountain becomes a vast playground for letting off steam and recharging energy. There are a number of activities to be discovered: hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, via ferrata, rafting, acrobranching, paragliding, summer tobogganing, golf, paintballing, nordic walking, fitness programmes ... not forgetting all the visits to sites of local interest: slate workshop, cheese making, tour of the Vieux Bourg, discovering the alpine tundra of Séraussaix and sled rides. The indoor water centre rounds off the thoroughly comprehensive tourist offer!
