Porto-Vecchio
THE TOWN OF PORTO-VECCHIO is very glad to welcome on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th March the 79th Critérium International. Our town will have the place of honour as the start and finishing point of the three stages.
I would especially like to thank Christian Prudhomme as well as all the members of his team for the trust they have placed in us.
The Critérium International is one of the major events in the cycling calendar. It is an essential race at the start of the season for professional riders, and let's not forget that a fair number of Tour de France winners have also etched their name on its roll of honour.
Porto-Vecchio is both a seaside and mountain town. It boasts sites of outstanding beauty which will undoubtedly be an ideal terrain for all the participants.
We are particularly proud to help put on a cycling show for the many spectators, whether newcomers or diehards, who will come to encourage the competitors along the roads of Corsica's southern tip.
